Philips Air Cooker Recipes: Part 1

Braised Tofu, Prawn & Broccoli

Ingredients:

  • 150g soft tofu, cut into squares
  • 100g broccoli, cut into florets
  • 3 slices ginger, minced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • ½ tsp dark soya sauce
  • 2 tsp corn starch
  • 8 medium sized-prawns, peeled

Method:

  1. Mix the garlic and ginger in a bowl with all the seasonings and corn starch until well combined.
  2. Place the tofu and broccoli into the seasoning sauces and toss together.
  3. Pour the tofu and broccoli onto the baking tray and top with the prawns.
  4. Pour 10ml of water onto the base of the Philips Air Cooker.
  5. Place the baking tin onto the bottom tray attachment.
  6. Close the lid. Press the Air Steam mode, set for 10 minutes at 120°C and press ‘Start’.
  7. Once ready, remove the baking tray and serve.

Chicken Rice

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces chicken leg
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 inches ginger, julienne
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup jasmine rice, washed and drained
  • 1 tbsp spring onions, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced

Method:

  1. Pour the water into the Philips Air Cooker pot. Put in the chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, spring onions, salt and pepper.
  2. Pour 20ml of water onto the base and ‘Air Steam’ for 20 minutes at 120°C. Remove the soup.
  3. Remove the chicken from the soup and place it on the grill pan. Drizzle the sesame oil and soy sauce over the chicken and rub it all over the chicken.
  4. Place the rice into the baking pan. Pour 2 cups of the soup over the rice and stir.
  5. Pour in 30ml of water. Transfer the baking pan and grill pan stacked over into the air cooker. Close the lid to begin cooking the rice and chicken on ‘Air Steam’ mode for 30 minutes at 120°C on high steam.
  6. When the rice is ready, serve with the baked chicken, some soup and cucumber slices.

Salmon Teriyaki

Ingredients:

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water
  • 2 salmon belly fillets
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp mixture of black and white sesame seeds
  • 20 snap peas/snow peas

Method:

  1. To make the teriyaki sauce, whisk the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, water and cornstarch into a bowl. Pour it onto the baking pot.
  2. Brush some of the sauce over the salmon belly fillets. Place it on the grill tray and brush with a thin layer of sesame oil. Pour 20 ml of water into the base of the Philips Air Cooker. Start cooking on ‘Air Steam’ mode at 120°C for 20 minutes.
  3. For the last 2 minutes of the steaming, lift the lid and put in the snow peas/snap peas next to the salmon. Close the lid and complete the cooking process.
  4. Sprinkle black and white sesame seeds over the salmon and drizzle with the balance teriyaki sauce before serving.
